Из этого и известных фотофизических характеристик бифенилена следует, что механизм его флуоресценции вписывается в модель флуоресценции C2v-симметричных цис-зоалканов, имеющей обменно-резонансную природу. Модель объясняет причины необычной интенсивности, полуширины, поляризации и преимущественного проявления полносимметричных колебаний спектра флуоресценции. </p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>It is shown that the S1↔S0 pure-electron transition frequencies of absorption and emission essentially differ. From this and known photophysical characteristics of biphenylene it follows that its fluorescence mechanism fits into model of specific C2v symmetrical cis-azoalkane fluorescence having exchange-resonant nature.
